After-School Upcycling Club
Apart from making preloved school uniform easily accessible to EVERYONE, we are equally passionate about bridging the future generations with the truth behind the textile industry and its environmental impact.
We thus offer After-School Clubs to local schools during the school term with the purpose to:
(1) inform about fashion supply chain and the environmental cost of clothing;
(2) understand the impact of our material consumption and of waste generation;
(3) educate on textile fibres and sustainable alternatives;
(4) explain industry practices throughout the "life" of clothing and the possibilities and limits of recycling;
(5) explore hands-on practical skills to "up-cycle" fabric in order to extend its lifespan.
We partner with a local charity Little Hands Design to teach the participants practical skills, including basic sewing, to make meaningful new products out of old materials that cannot be reused.
